Over the past years, MPE has successfully delivered LV cabinets to suppliers of medium and high voltage equipment to be fitted in their package substations. Working in collaboration with client’s engineers, a compact cabinet was designed which could be easily installed in their existing structures. This same cabinet design is now standard issue with MPE package sub- stations.
The cabinets are available in the two models: 1600A for 1000kVA and 800A for 500kVA substations respectively. The layout of the busbars and the positioning of the main circuit breaker are standard while up to 6, 400A frame size outgoing MCCBs can be installed. The actual layout of outgoing breakers varies from contract to contract. Similarly, a range of instrumentation options are available depending on the customer’s specifications.
The main circuit breakers are provided with rear copper terminals for connection to the LV side of the transformer. Connections can be made by rigid or flexibile copper bars or single core cables. 220V AC shunt trips are supplied fitted in the main circuit breaker as standard which can be incorporated in the substation protection schemes.
